Recent Highlights

Sarah Ofstedal was provisionally appointed at a Special Board Meeting held on March 5, 2024, to complete the term expiring November 30, 2024.

Students celebrated reaching their attendance goals for November and December with a foam party.

For the last two years, Olson Elementary and the Arts Council for Monterey County have worked together to match up a local artist with our 6th-grade students to work on a site-based project. This year, Oakland-based muralist, Matthew Floriani, partnered with our 6-grade students to design and install a mural that reflects the community value of kindness. This mural can be seen from Beach Road.

September is National Literacy Month across the country and at MPUSD we want our families to know what steps we are taking to create a path toward literacy for all students.

At MPUSD, we serve more than 1,600 special education students. Our students are supported in many ways.

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is one of 830 school districts in the nation that has been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for making music education part of a well-rounded education.

National Mental Health Awareness Month is an important opportunity to recognize the impact of mental health for all Americans, including students, teachers and staff at the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District.
