September is Attendance Awareness Month and it marks a time for schools and communities nationwide to highlight the importance of showing up to school every day.

MPUSD's 2025-2026 Back-to-School Nights are now available. We hope to see you at one, two, three, or many of our evenings. These nights are open to the entire community.

As September approaches, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is reaffirming its commitment to student safety and emotional well-being during National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

Each year on August 31, communities across the globe observe International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD)—a day dedicated to raising awareness about overdose, reducing the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths, and honoring the memories of those we have lost.

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is proud to announce its Back-to-School Connections conferences August 18 - 22, 2025, for elementary and middle school families.

The Board of Education approved the districtwide school calendars for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

This school year, teachers and staff will get to meet you and your kindergarten student during the first two weeks of school (Wednesday, August 7 - Friday, August 16, 2024).  School will be half-day and afterschool care will be available.

Do you have a child who is 4 or 5 years old? Sign them up for transitional kindergarten or kindergarten at MPUSD today and don’t delay!
