Hello Olson Community,
I am honored and privileged by the opportunity to join the Olson Elementary School community this coming school year as your Principal. I join Olson having served as an elementary administrator within the Cupertino Unified School District for the last 5 years. Prior to that, I served as an Academic Dean and Teacher for over five years. While teaching, I earned National Board Certification. National Board Certification is the profession’s mark of accomplished teaching and is the most respected professional certification available in education.
I am overjoyed to join the Marina community not only as your principal, but a devout husband and proud father of two boys, ages 5 and 8. My sons will be attending a MPUSD school this Fall and as a family we are very much looking forward to establishing roots in Marina.
As we come to a close on this school year and begin to plan for our next together, I have developed an Entry Plan which will allow me to introduce myself, in addition to, listen and learn from all of you, and our many stakeholders.
This Entry Plan reflects my systematic approach and commitment to seek your input so that I can effectively make informed decisions towards the best interests of our students. This plan will extend over the first semester of school as I meet with, gain insight, and gather input from all stakeholders. My findings will be shared in January and will include shared objectives, as well as an action plan for achieving them that will be developed with our Instructional Leadership Team’s involvement.
As your principal, I am ultimately responsible for the learning, safety, and emotional growth of ALL students and staff. I intend to be an active member of the Olson team frequenting the classroom and being visible around campus serving the needs of the school. Only by working with every part of our community can I successfully fulfill this responsibility. Together, I am confident we will provide the best educational experience possible for all children at Olson Elementary School.
I look forward to meeting all members of our school community in the coming weeks and beginning the collaborative work that will result in best serving the students, staff, and families of our school.
