Bullying prevention is vital to creating a safe, inclusive environment where all our Olson students can thrive. When our students feel physically and emotionally secure at school, their academic engagement, social confidence, and overall well-being improve significantly. By proactively teaching empathy, respect, and intervention strategies, we empower our Orca scholars to build healthy relationships early on and prevent negative behaviors from taking root.
We have many activities planned to help educate our students about what bullying is and how we can prevent it from happening at our school. This link,
https://www.pacer.org/, is a great resource for parents when discussing bullying prevention. Teachers across classrooms will facilitate developmentally appropriate bullying prevention lessons from our Second Step curriculum and our Student Council will be sharing relevant messaging throughout the week. Olson will also be collaborating with both LAMS and MaHS to support our Bullying Prevention efforts with student groups from both schools facilitating classroom presentations in classrooms across grade levels during the week of 10/26 (more info to follow).
