Welcome Back Olson Families & Community!

I hope your kiddos enjoyed a well deserved restful and refreshing Fall Break! As we return to school, I want to share just how grateful I am for our Olson community and the continued partnership you provide in supporting our students. Fall is a wonderful time to reconnect, reflect on our progress, and renew our commitment to learning and growing together. As we head into the next few weeks, we look forward to building on the strong start to our school year through engaging learning experiences, meaningful relationships, and opportunities for every student to feel connected, challenged, and supported. Thank you for the many ways you partner with us to make Olson Elementary a welcoming place where all students can thrive.

Here's to another amazing week ahead. Enjoy The Weekly Splash video below that highlights some of the amazing events our Orca students, staff, and community experienced prior to the break! Never hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Olson Orcas lead the way!

Fall Clubs

At Olson, we value diversity in lived experience and are excited to support this by providing a variety of after school experiences for this upcoming Fall season. We believe these experiences will improve school attendance, foster agency, develop student sense of culture & identity, and improve children's overall social & emotional well-being.

Parent Square messages were sent out to families to confirm student enrollment in the various club offerings. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to the front office.

This week’s clubs:
Monday - Creative Wellness (3), Choir (15) & Orca Reading Reef (11)
Tuesday - Improv Theater (15)
Wednesday - Kodely (20) & Good News (22)
Thursday - Primary Art (13), Strings (15), & Advanced Strings (15)

Attendance Update

Attendance Over Time

Olson's Daily Attendance Goal is 97%
The chart above displays the average daily percentage of students who attended school each day during the months of August, September, and thus far in October. It also shows that our chronic absenteeism rate has been decreasing. This means less students are missing 10% or more of school. Such good news!
