 Breaking News

The countdown is onThe first day of school is Wednesday, August 5. Finish those summer adventures, find those backpacks, set those alarms, and get ready for an amazing year. We can't wait to welcome our students back next week.

Parent/Guardian/Student Handbook Now Available - The 2026 - 2027 MPUSD Parent/Guardian/Student Handbook is now available online. The handbook includes important information about student rights and responsibilities, attendance, health and safety, technology use, school policies, and more to help families prepare for a successful school year. Please take a few moments to review it before school begins. View the handbook on our website: 2026–2027 Parent/Guardian/Student Handbook.

Waiting on your student's bus pass? Don't worry! We're hard at work processing bus passes, and it may take a little time as we prepare for the new school year. Good news: Students who ride the bus will not be required to show a bus pass until Monday, August 31, 2026. They can continue riding the bus while passes are being processed. Still need to request a bus pass? Visit www.mpusd.net/bus-passesThank you for your patience as we get everyone ready for a smooth start to the school year!

Information of Interest

Voluntary Student Accident and Illness Insurance Option - As part of the new school year, families will receive information about optional student accident and medical insurance plans available for purchase. While MPUSD DOES NOT provide medical or dental insurance for students, these voluntary plans can help provide coverage for school-related injuries or 24/7 accidents, depending on the option you choose. We encourage all parents and guardians to review the materials carefully to determine whether this optional coverage is right for your family. Learn more and access the enrollment information here.

ParentVUE & StudentVUE App UpdateFamilies and students using the ParentVUE or StudentVUE mobile app will need to update to the latest version to continue accessing their accounts. Older versions of the app are no longer supported and will display a login error. Visit our website for simple update instructions, answers to frequently asked questions, and information on how to get help if you need assistance.

ParentSquare versus ParentVue - MPUSD often gets asked "What is the difference between ParentVue and ParentSquare?" or "Do I need both?" or "I already have that." YES, you need both! MPUSD clarifies the difference between the two. We have a side by side comparison of the two on our website and below.

You asked. We're listening. - Thank you to the families who completed our end-of-year survey and shared feedback on the MPUSD Community Updates, which is published weekly on Saturday mornings. Overall, respondents said the newsletter is a valuable way to stay informed about district news, events, student achievements, and academic opportunities. Your top recommendation? Keep it shorter and more focused on new information each week. We also heard you'd like to continue seeing student success stories, district news, community resources, and updates on curriculum and facilities. Thank you for helping us make the Community Updates even better.

Connect With Us

Connect with Us - In this section we typically highlight one to three short video reels featuring our schools, students, and staff. We post so much more on our social media platforms. If you're on social media, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We have retired our X account this school year.

Board of Education

Board of Education Meeting - The Board of Education met this past week. If you missed the meeting and want to know what actions the Board took check out Board Highlights or watch Spotlight on Board Highlights below. The Board meets again on Tuesday, August 11, and you may access the agenda on August 6 here.

Items Worthy of Repeat from Previous Editions

The Why Behind the What Readers shared in the feedback survey that they would like less repeated content. We hear you! While we may occasionally repeat important reminders so everyone has a chance to see them before deadlines and events, we'll move recurring announcements to the bottom of the newsletter to keep the top focused on new and timely updates.
